From his first performance aged thirteen at the Cliffsons CMC in Wrexham Darren has developed a deep love of country music. This comes through in his shows with artist spanning many generations covered. His personal favorites being Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings and modern artists such as Tracy Byrd and Toby Keith. Shying away from the modern linedance type outfits, he prefers to wear western clothing on stage, including his guns but can present a linedance style show if needed.
Darren's professional equipment enables him to play any size venue from a small room to an outdoor festival with ease. Using the very best backing tracks available and accompanying himself on guitar or mandolin he presents an outstanding performance. He is not uncomfortable with acoustic numbers and often throws a few into his sets. Due to his large repertoire Darren can adapt his performance to any audience and venue, from western roundups through to linedance parties, he is always updating his show and tries to keep abreast with the modern country charts.

Darren is active in all parts of the country scene, from entering the fast draw competition through to his own authentic camp. At most roundups he attends he can be found strumming his guitar or mandolin around a pot of chilli cooking over his campfire and anyone who wants to join in is welcomed. Darren's western name is Hoss and when not in a cowboy outfit he can usually be found dressed in his Confederate cavalry outfit.
